Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences, and provide certain functionality. Similar technologies include pixel tags, local storage, session storage, software development kits (SDKs), and web beacons — collectively referred to in this Policy as “Cookies”.
Cookies may be first-party (set by TutorCloud) or third-party (set by a service provider we use). They may be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a defined period).
| Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Enable core functionality such as login, session persistence, security (including CSRF and fraud protection), and load balancing. These cannot be disabled through the consent interface as the Services cannot function without them. | Session or up to 12 months |
| Preferences | Remember your preferences such as language, region, theme, and interface settings so we can personalise your experience. | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics (privacy-preserving) | Help us understand aggregated usage patterns, feature adoption, error rates, and performance so we can improve the Services. We configure analytics tools to anonymise IP addresses and to prohibit cross-site tracking and re-identification. | Up to 13 months |
Some Cookies may be set by third-party providers we engage to deliver core service functions — for example, authentication (SSO providers), classroom/rostering integrations, payment processors, and communication or video-conferencing tools that you or your Institution activate. These providers process cookie data under their own privacy policies. We do not permit third parties to use Cookies set through the Services for cross-site behavioural advertising directed at our Users.
You have several options to manage Cookies:
- Cookie consent banner — on your first visit and thereafter through the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer, you may accept, reject, or customise non-essential Cookies.
- Browser settings — most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block Cookies. Refer to your browser’s help documentation.
- Device settings — mobile operating systems allow you to limit ad tracking and reset advertising identifiers.
- Do Not Track (DNT) — we honour DNT signals for non-essential Cookies where technically feasible.
Please note: disabling Strictly Necessary Cookies will impair the functionality of the Services (e.g., you may not be able to log in).
- For Cookies that require consent under the DPDPA (i.e., those that involve processing of personal data beyond what is strictly necessary), we present a clear and specific consent notice before setting the Cookie.
- For Users under 18, only Strictly Necessary Cookies are set until verifiable parental consent is obtained for additional Cookies (if any).
- You may withdraw your consent to non-essential Cookies at any time through the Cookie Preferences interface. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
- In institutional contexts, the Institution may configure permitted Cookie categories on behalf of its users, in accordance with the Institution’s Data Processing Agreement with TutorCloud.

This Cookie Policy explains how TutorCloud Technology Limited (“TutorCloud”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the TutorCloud.AI website, mobile applications and related digital services (the “Service”) when accessed by Users in the United Arab Emirates. This Cookie Policy supplements the Privacy Policy set out in Document 1 of this Legal Pack.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, to authenticate you, and to provide information to the site owner. Similar technologies (such as local storage, session storage and pixel tags) perform comparable functions.
TutorCloud follows a minimal-cookie approach. We use only the cookies and similar technologies that we consider necessary to operate the Service, keep it secure, remember your preferences and understand — in aggregated form — how the Service is used.
| Category | Purpose | Typical Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Required for the Service to function, including authentication (keeping you signed in), session management, load balancing, security and fraud prevention. These cannot be disabled through consent settings, because the Service will not work without them. | Session or persistent (up to 12 months) |
| Preferences | Remember your choices such as language (English or Arabic), display mode, accessibility settings and the dashboard view you last used, so that the Service is personalised to you across visits. | Persistent (up to 12 months) |
| Analytics (Aggregated) | Help us understand—in aggregated, non-identifying form—how the Service is used, which features are popular, where errors occur, and how performance can be improved. Analytics data is never used for advertising and is not shared with third-party advertising networks. | Persistent (up to 13 months) |
Some limited third-party cookies may be set on your device by trusted Service Providers acting on our behalf, in each case only for the purposes described in Section 2.
- Single Sign-On providers set short-lived cookies to authenticate you when you choose to sign in via SSO.
- Content delivery networks and security providers may set cookies for network performance, load balancing, bot mitigation and fraud protection.
- Aggregated analytics providers may set cookies to collect non-identifying usage statistics, with IP addresses truncated or otherwise pseudonymised where technically feasible.
We do not permit third parties to use cookies set through the Service for their own advertising, profiling or unrelated purposes. Categories, rather than named third parties, are described here because our vendor stack may change from time to time; Institutional Customers may request the current sub-processor list under a data processing agreement.
4.1 In-Product Cookie Preferences
Where non-essential cookies are used, we present a cookie notice at your first visit and provide an in-product Cookie Preferences control that allows you to accept, reject or manage individual categories at any time. Strictly Necessary cookies cannot be disabled, because without them the Service will not function.
4.2 Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to view, delete and block cookies for particular sites or globally. Please refer to your browser’s help pages for guidance. If you block Strictly Necessary cookies, some parts of the Service may not function correctly, including sign-in and session persistence.
4.3 Mobile Applications
On our mobile applications, similar technologies (such as SDK-issued identifiers and local storage) can be managed through the settings of your mobile operating system or via in-product controls, where available.
4.4 Effect of Withdrawal
Withdrawing consent to a category of cookies will apply prospectively; it will not affect processing that has already occurred lawfully.
Our cookie practices are aligned to the following legal frameworks as they apply in the UAE:
- UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL) — consent-based Processing where cookies are used for non-strictly-necessary purposes.
- Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) guidance on internet and electronic communications.
- DIFC Data Protection Law No. 5 of 2020 and ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021 — where you access the Service from within the DIFC or ADGM free zones.
- EU / UK / EEA laws (ePrivacy Directive and GDPR / UK GDPR) — for Users who access the Service from those jurisdictions, we honour those consent standards for cookie use.
Where you are signed in to a Child Account (a Learner under 18 in the UAE), only Strictly Necessary cookies and, where applicable, Preferences cookies with Parent or Institutional consent are set. Analytics are collected in aggregated form only, and no advertising or profiling cookies are placed.

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to store information that can be read on later visits. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels, SDK identifiers) work in comparable ways and are covered by this Cookie Policy where used.
TutorCloud uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies on http://www.tutorcloud.ae and in our applications. Consistent with our commitment to a minimal-footprint approach in Australia and New Zealand, we do not use behavioural advertising cookies on the learner experience and do not permit third parties to track learners across sites through our Service.
| Category | Purpose | Consent | Typical Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary (Essential) | Required to operate the Service. Includes authentication, session management, load balancing, security, fraud prevention, and accessibility state. | Not required (necessary for the Service you have requested). | Session or up to 12 months. |
| Preferences (Functional) | Remember your language, region, display settings, chosen accessibility options and other non-essential preferences. | Enabled by default; can be disabled in cookie settings. | Up to 12 months. |
| Analytics (Performance) | Aggregate, de-identified usage measurement to help us understand how the Service is used and improve it. We do not use analytics cookies for behavioural advertising, and analytics is disabled by default for accounts we know or reasonably suspect belong to minors. | Requires your consent where required by law. You may accept or decline through the cookie banner or the cookie settings panel. | Up to 24 months. |
We use a small number of trusted service providers whose technologies may set cookies or read information from your device on our behalf. These providers fall into categories including authentication, product analytics and error monitoring. Each provider is contractually restricted to using the information solely for the purposes we specify. Providers are not permitted to track learners across unrelated websites or to use learner information for behavioural advertising.
We do not name specific third-party vendors in this Policy in order to keep it stable across product iterations. A current list of cookie-setting service providers is maintained in the cookie settings panel accessible from the footer of the Service.
- In-product controls: You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the cookie banner presented on your first visit, and at any time thereafter via the Cookie Settings link in the footer of the Service.
- Browser controls: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Instructions differ by browser and are typically available in the browser’s help documentation.
- Do Not Track: Where your browser communicates a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a request to disable non-essential analytics for that browser session.
- Effect of disabling: Disabling Strictly Necessary cookies may cause parts of the Service to malfunction (for example, you may not be able to remain signed in). Disabling Preferences or Analytics cookies does not affect core learning functionality.
- Australia: Consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 3 (collection of personal information) and OAIC guidance on cookies and online tracking, we obtain consent for non-essential cookies where those cookies collect information reasonably identifiable to an individual. For learners we know or reasonably suspect to be under 18, analytics is off by default and behavioural advertising cookies are not deployed at all.
- New Zealand: Consistent with the Privacy Act 2020 and OPC guidance, we provide clear notice of our cookie use and enable meaningful choice for non-essential cookies. We do not use cookies to profile children.
- Cross-border users: Where a user accesses the Service from outside Australia or New Zealand (for example, an EU/EEA or UK resident) we apply the higher of the applicable consent standards. Categories in Section 2 that require consent will not be set until the user has actively accepted them.

Manage your cookie
preferences
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember user preferences, and to help website operators understand how their sites are used. Similar technologies — including web beacons, pixels, local storage, and software development kit identifiers used in mobile applications — may perform comparable functions. In this Cookie Policy, references to “cookies” include those similar technologies unless the context requires otherwise.
TutorCloud.AI is intentionally light in its use of cookies. We use only what is reasonably needed to run the Service, remember your preferences, and understand aggregate usage. We do not use cookies for third-party behavioural advertising on the Service, and we do not permit third-party behavioural tracking on any part of the Service directed to Children or on School Accounts.
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential to enable you to move around the Service and use its features, such as accessing secure areas, authenticating your session, maintaining basic security controls, and remembering that you have logged in. Without these cookies, the Service cannot function properly. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies, though you can block them by adjusting your browser settings — in which case the Service may not work correctly.
Typical purposes served: session authentication, security and abuse-prevention, load balancing, and remembering your consent and preference choices.
2.2 Preference Cookies
These cookies allow the Service to remember choices you make (such as language and region) and provide enhanced, more personal features. The information collected by these cookies is used only to remember your preferences.
2.3 Analytics Cookies (First-Party, Privacy-Respecting)
We use a limited set of first-party analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the Service in aggregate — for example, which pages are visited, which features are used, and where errors occur — so that we can improve the Service. Where analytics processing occurs for Children or on School Accounts, we configure it in accordance with COPPA, SOPIPA, and applicable state student data privacy laws, including by disabling cross-site tracking, disabling advertising features, and limiting the retention of identifiers.
We do not use marketing, retargeting, or cross-context behavioural advertising cookies within the authenticated learning environment, and we do not permit those cookies to operate on any Service page directed to Children.
Some cookies may be set by third-party service providers that we engage to help us operate the Service — for example, a session-security provider or an error-reporting provider. Where used, such third-party cookies are limited to the operational purpose for which they are set and are subject to contracts that prohibit unrelated use. We do not sell information collected by cookies, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Consent tools: Where required by law, we display a cookie notice or preference centre from which you can accept, reject, or configure non-essential cookies. You can revisit and change your choices at any time from a “Cookie Preferences” link available on the Service.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Instructions are available in your browser’s help documentation. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may impair the Service.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals to the extent required by applicable state law, treating a GPC signal from a browser or platform as a valid request to opt out of any sale or sharing of Personal Information for cross-context behavioural advertising (although we do not sell or share Personal Information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA).
- Mobile devices: You may reset or limit tracking through your device’s operating-system settings.
- For Children and School Accounts, we treat non-essential cookies as off by default and only enable them where the applicable Parent or School has given the appropriate consent or configured the account to permit them.
- For California consumers, this Policy, together with our Privacy Policy, describes the categories of information collected through cookies. You may exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights as described in the Privacy Policy.
- For residents of other US states with applicable privacy laws, you may exercise your rights (including opt-out and rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability) as described in the Privacy Policy.
